9.07 min. | 4.8438287 user rating | 180382 views
Full recipe is on my website: www.maangchi.com Korean Tofu stew, doenjang chigae, is made with vegetables, tofu, and beanpaste. It's koreans' everyday house food. We eat it with other sidedishes and rice, but sometimes, especially in the southern part of Korea, we eat this stew with barley rice, vegetable salads, hotpepper paste all mixed together. Almost all of koreans love this food. "Doenjang chigae" (Bean paste and vegetable stew) Ingredients: • 1 medium size potato • a zucchini or a squash • 1 medium size onion • garlic • 1 green chili pepper • 7 dried anchovies • 1 green onion • 100-150 grams of tofu • soy bean paste (doen jang) • 4 shrimp Almost all Koreans love this food, and I think you will, too! 1. Prepare a ceramic pot to put all the ingredients in. 2. Peel the potato, cut it into 2 cups worth of cubes, and put them into the pot. 3. Cut zucchini into 2 cups worth of cubes, and put them into the pot. 4. Cut your onion into chunks, and put them into the pot. 5. Slice your green chili pepper, and put it into the pot. 6. Prepare 7 large dried anchovies by removing their heads and intestines, chop them up, and put them into the pot. 7. Chop up 4 shrimp and put them into the pot. 8. Mince 5 cloves of garlic and put it into the pot. 9. Your pot will now be 2/3 full with your ingredients. 10. Submerge everything in water and cook it over high heat. *tip: Don't put too much water, just enough to cover everything 11. When it starts boiling, add 4-6 tbs of bean paste

Grannie's Stuffed Aburage
10.12 min. | 4.769231 user rating | 1359 views
Don't forget to enter the contest giveaway!! youtu.be Sorry for the pre-ad video. It is not allowing me to turn it off!! I have struggled with it for 5 minutes now GRRRR I know I have already loaded a stuffed aburage recipe, however, as I said, I will more times than not do it because I always like to see if other interpretations are better. This one is nicely named! lol So while it is named "grannie", it is not our granny's recipe. It came from one of my old school local cookbooks that I found at the thrift store. All three of us agree that this recipe kicks the old one's BLEEP! 1 pkg aburage (fried bean curd) Cut in half and open. Boil aburage in about 3 inches of water, with one packet of dashi, 1/2 cup shoyu and 2 tablespoons of sugar. (No time given, but I only boiled it for 1-2 min) Mixture: Ground pork (No measurement but I used about 1 - 1.25 lbs) 1/2 c. green onion, chopped 1/2 c. round onion, diced 1 can water chestnuts, diced (I used only about 1/3 of the can) Shrimp (optional) 1 egg 1/4 c. shoyu 2 Tbsp. oyster sauce 2 cloves garlic, grated 1 tsp. sesame oil 1 Tbsp. sugar salt and pepper to taste Stuff aburage with mixture. Microwave (covered) 15-20 (depending on your microwave). Bake (covered) 20-40 minutes at 350 degrees or until cooked. If I remember correctly (as I did this a while ago), we did decide that we didn't care much for it being microwaved. We will likely steam it the way we do our other recipe or try the oven. It just seemed to be a little dry in

Fried rice is perhaps one of most famous dish in Asian cuisine. There are many styles of fried rice or "com chien" in Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese... each has its own unique style and taste. The dish I share with you in this video is a personal family recipe passed down from my mother. It consists of Vietnamese pork sausage or "lap xuong", carrots, peas and eggs. Our style of mixing eggs is different from others in that we mix the egg into the rice so that the rice grains are coated with egg, thus enrich the color and aroma of the dish. I hope you enjoy this video. How to make egg fried rice with pork sausage, eggs, peas, carrots... Fried rice is one of the favorites dishes for Vietnamese. To make a delicious flavorful dish, please follow the simple method in this video to create a fried rice dish that tastes great. Ingredients: 1 bowl of rice, that has cool (not hot) 1/3 cup of sausage. I prefer this brand, Mai Quế Lộ. 1/3 cup steamed peas 1/3 cup carrots 1 egg Salt, pepper, soy sauce, seasoning salt Minced garlic Method: Steam carrots about 10 minutes. Cut into the same size as the peas, like this. Sausage steamed for about 10 minutes. Cut in size similar to peas, like this. Heat pan with a bit of oil, add garlic, stir quickly, add in sausage, stir. Put in peas, and carrots. A little seasoning salt. Stir. Heat oil in the wok and brown tofu. Add Doubanjiang to the oil and mash it to mix. Add green onions and douchi. Add sake, vinegar and soy sauce. Add Ginger paste and dried Sichuan chilies.
